True Temper Shafts "Ace" NCAA Championship
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The number one shaft manufacturer, True Temper dominated collegiate play this weekend at the 112th Annual Division 1 NCAA Men’s Golf Championship held in Toledo, Ohio. Of the 156 sets in play, 154 were designed and manufactured by True Temper.
True Temper’s Dynamic Gold, Project X and Rifle brands are the most popular shaft designs in golf today and their undisputed dominance in NCAA play is evidence to the distance and accuracy they provide. At the NCAA Championship, Dynamic Gold shafts made up 63 percent (98 sets) of the irons in play, with Project X and Rifle shafts accounting for 29 percent (46 sets) and 2 percent (3 sets), respectively. A handful of proprietary shafts, designed for specific OEM’s by True Temper made up the difference in the overwhelming nearly 100 percent tally.
“The NCAA features some extremely talented players that will soon be the regular stars on the pro tours, and True Temper is proud to help these young athletes achieve a higher level of play,” says Scott Hennessy, president and CEO of True Temper Sports. “Whether at the collegiate or professional level, we work closely with the best golfers in the world to develop shaft technology that provides true benefits to golfers of all skill levels.”
The top-selling steel shafts in golf, Dynamic Gold shafts feature a high-flex, tour weight design that provides skilled players with a low, penetrating ball flight for optimum control and accuracy. True Temper’s Project X steels shafts are another highly popular line of shafts which have earned worldwide acclaim. The Project X features a dedicated constant taper rate per inch for each shaft in the set. Longer taper rate results in more energy transfer to the ball and the ball gets up faster and flattens out for a penetrating trajectory. Dynamic Gold shafts are available in tapered and parallel irons and parallel woods, while Project X steel shafts are available in tapered and parallel irons.
